"Complete, not Compete"

We are coming up on Veterans Day; thanks to all of you who served and continue to serve....another long week is winding down...

We were finishing up a couple of files and in a text exchange with a lender, the light bulb went off.  I came up with the following: "Complete, not Compete."

For some strange reason, I feel compelled to begin the writing, teaching, and counseling phase of my career and life objectives.  So - here we go!

I have been in the mortgage business for almost 30 years as a loan officer, processor, and mortgage broker. I have built a brand from the ground up, one file at a time. I have never taken a course in Mortgage 101 nor had any other formal education in the industry.

I am a front-line, real-time broker; I do no advertising, have never printed a business card, and do not solicit any realtor business. I do not care about rankings, SEO, websites, hot lists of buyers, etc.  I do not care for plaques or certificates; none are hanging or displayed in my office. We are 100% referral-based in a highly competitive field. All I have done is make myself available as needed.

I am a solution provider where mortgages are a product and only a piece of the puzzle. My knowledge and experience come from my client's lives and my learning curve, drawing from personal challenges, favorable outcomes, and my missteps over the last 70 years.

Yes, I will be 71 in a few months; I survived kidney failure, dialysis, and two heart attacks, and yet never missed a day of work. (100% true)

The question is, what will I work on during the close-out phase of my fourth quarter? I am genuinely grateful to all I have met and worked with. You have provided me with help, guidance, knowledge, experience, and the opportunity to partner with individuals and companies.

The rest of the journey continues…

Thank you,

George H Pingho
